My Tiny Song Of Gratitude

My Tiny Song Of Gratitude

EgertonGreyOn this day, 6 years ago, Antonio and I were married. It was a cold but clear November afternoon, and we were married in front of our small group of friends in the drawing room at Egerton Grey, a perfect, cosy little country house in rural Wales.

I walked in to Fritz Wunderlich singing Tamino’s aria “Dies Bildnis ist bezaubernd schön” from Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Perfect perfect perfect.

After the ceremony we walked out to “That’s Amore” by Dean Martin, and drank glasses of mulled wine.

Everyone stayed all weekend and we had the place to ourselves, drinking and eating and walking in the fields. We stayed up late by candlelight, singing and playing the piano, wandering the house as if were our own. It was the best weekend of my life.

For this year’s Tweetsgiving I want to say how grateful I am for that moment, and for every tiny moment since that we have been together.

I also want to share with you this poem by Rumi – it was read by my sister Amanda during our wedding.

The minute I heard my first love story

I started looking for you, not knowing

how blind that was.

Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere.

They’re in each other all along.

I wish you a wonderful and peaceful thanksgiving.

That's sweet! I caught the glimpse of your link in epic change. It's great that all of us are part of the gratitude act, hopefully to summon more awareness among our networks, while learn to appreciate our surroundings and experience more. ^^ Take care.

I know! Isn't it amazing that we can all contribute to this in some small way? Thank you :)
